The UMN Swine Group would like to announce that Dr. Igor Paploski has accepted the swine research MnDRIVE position!
Dr. Paploski has been a member of the VPM department as a Postdoctoral Associate (2018-2022) and most recently as a Researcher with the VanderWaal Lab. He completed his PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health at the Institute of Collective Health at the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil in 2017. Igor earned his Master’s degree in Epidemiology and Investigative Medicine at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ/BA), Brazil in 2013 and his DVM at the Federal University of Paraná, Brazil in 2010. Igor’s interests are in the epidemiology of infectious diseases affecting human or animal populations, especially those that disproportionately affect neglected populations. His research focuses on understanding the transmission and evolution of PRRSv and PEDv affecting swine herds in the U.S.
